Sci-Fi Modular Environment.

Using a super reference I created a super basic modular environment using a couple substances I've created as well as a few I've collected from Substance Share.

I ended with a well worn sci-fi scene that was easily adjusted from an All Clear status to a Danger Close status by simply altering the lighting.

After bringing in some basic BSP's to unreal to help create proper proportions, I exported them as static meshes to help model out my actual meshes. I then re-imported them into unreal to make sure they worked before working on materials.

At this point the static meshes have been UV'd to properly tile the materials as well as a separate UV set added for a proper light map. Above is my basic setup for vertex painting the floor with a rust texture.

Here I took a bit of time deciding what assets I wanted broke down and how modular/customizable I wanted my environment to be.

I decided I wanted to go for  a more futuristic sci-fi environment and put my own little twist on it. This image is actually an idea that was released from the Alien Isolation assets to show what possible ideas where in their development process.
